Wayne Woodward is a singer who reached the Final of Series 10 of Britain’s Got Talent. He was aged 20 at the time of his audition and worked as a builder, yet also sang at weddings and at bars, restaurants and clubs. He hailed from Sutton which is located in Surrey. He had been singing since he were 6 and dreamt of making it in the music industry.
Woodward’s audition was televised after a montage of unsuccessful ‘bad acts’. In his audition, he sang ‘The Way You Look Tonight’ by Frank Sinatra. Alesha remarked that Woodward had an ‘Effortless charm’, whilst Simon added ‘There [were] points in the song where [he] lost [his] way, but I am loving it’.
In the Semi-Finals, he sang ‘That’s Life’ by Frank Sinatra. Amanda commented that he Knocked it out of the park’ and that ‘It sounded like [he] were channelling someone else’s voice’, whilst Simon added ‘What I love about you is that you love what you’re singing’. He won the Public Vote and advanced immediately onto the Final.
In the Final, he performed the Nina Simone version of ‘Feeling Good’. Simon remarked that he ‘Put on the performance of [his] lifetime’, whilst Amanda added ‘You have literally got everything going for you’. He finished second overall, behind magician Richard Jones.
